UNC Kenan-Flagler Releases First MBA Admissions App: MBA News main image

An MBA admissions App, known as ‘The MBA App’, has been launched by UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.

Available initially as a free download for iPhone and iPad, but with plans to expand onto Android devices, The MBA App seeks to help prospective MBA applicants definitively decide if the qualification is right for them as well as providing resources aimed at allowing them to then identify the program that will best suit their requirements.

“Our admissions team listened to the issues that prospective students pondered, and then developed useful information that helps them address those questions and provides valuable information about the process”, said Sherry Wallace, MBA admissions director at UNC Kenan-Flagler in a press release.

MBA App designed to help MBA applicants through admissions dilemmas

Key features of The MBA App are tools targeted at allowing MBA applicants to decide on the right time to apply and to structure a financing plan, as well as to calculate what kind of return on investment they could expect by successfully enrolling on and completing their chosen MBA program.

“The best thing is that [The MBA App] offers prospective students the unique insights and expertise of a seasoned admissions team at a leading global business school”, said Kenan-Flagler’s chief marketing officer, Michael Schinelli.

The MBA admissions App represents part of a wider digital drive for UNC Kenan-Flagler. In May 2013, it took its alumni magazine, UNC Business, onto both an online and mobile device platform.

Last month, the Chapel Hill-based school announced that Kenan-Flagler stalwart, Jack Evans, would be serving a third term as interim dean after a personal request was made by outgoing dean, Dr. James Dean, for Evans to come out of retirement. Dr. Dean remains a Kenan-Flagler professor of organizational behavior in addition to his role as executive vice chancellor and provost of UNC.
